Baptist Center for Spine Care takes a proactive approach to spine and neck health. Our comprehensive services include diagnosis, treatment, pain management, rehabilitation, patient education, behavioral medicine strategies and complementary medical therapies. We designed our Center with your comfort and convenience in mind by offering all of these services in one location.
New Patient Evaluations
All new patients receive a full evaluation from our physiatrist, a specialized physician who determines the nature of your injury and develops a plan of care for your diagnosis and treatment. Patients with urgent conditions are usually seen the same day. If surgery is a possibility, your visit includes imaging studies and a consultation with a spine surgeon, usually on the same day. Our specialists can diagnose your condition and design and initiate your treatment plan on your very first visit.
Diagnosis:
At Baptist Center for Spine Care, we use the latest methods to diagnose spine and neck problems and most diagnostics are performed on an outpatient basis. Our diagnostic services include:
- X-Ray
- MRI
- CT Scan
- Myelography
- Discogram
- Electromyogram
Second-Opinion Surgery Consultations
BCSC surgeons provide surgical consultations for patients considering spinal surgery. Our conservative approach ensure you receive the information you need to make the best decision.
Conservative (Non-Surgical) Treatment Options
Baptist Center for Spine Care specialists are advocates for spine health and wellness. Our Center was established to provide a wide variety of non-surgical neck and back pain treatments in a hospital-based program. We strive to restore health and hope to patients, in the safest, most non-invasive way.
Many back and neck conditions can be treated without surgery and we try conservative treatments first. Often, our physicians use several treatment methods at one time, allowing patients the benefit of a multidisciplinary approach. Methods vary, depending on your condition or the severity of your injury. You may be advised to start with pain medication and modalities such as ice packs and ibuprofen. Or, your condition may require a more aggressive intervention such as epidural steroid injections and intensive rehabilitation.
A total spine and neck care program, Baptist Center for Spine Care can help patients with a variety of conditions.
